Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-06. This page describes GlossAtlas’s actual, current pre-launch state — not a hypothetical future state written as if it were already true.

What this site uses today

As of this writing, GlossAtlas does not set any cookie, and does not use localStorage, sessionStorage, or any other browser storage mechanism. The comparison tool is a static site with no accounts, no saved preferences, and no analytics or advertising code actively running. If you inspect this site’s storage in your browser today, you should find nothing placed there by GlossAtlas itself.

What will be added, and when

The site’s codebase is built for two pieces of infrastructure that are now configured in Google’s console but not live to visitors yet — the site itself has not been deployed to production:

  1. Google Analytics 4 (GA4). A real GA4 property now exists for GlossAtlas (see the Privacy Policy). Once the site is deployed, Google’s gtag.js will set its own first-party cookies to measure product usage (for example, distinguishing a new visit from a returning one). These cookies are controlled by Google Consent Mode: by default every analytics/advertising storage signal is set to denied, and full measurement cookies are only set after you make an explicit choice through Google’s consent interface.
  2. Google’s consent management platform (CMP) and Google-served advertising. Google’s own CMP (AdSense → Privacy & Messaging) has been configured for glossatlas.com and will set a cookie recording your consent choice itself once live, so you aren’t re-prompted on every visit. Google’s advertising cookies (AdSense) are covered by that same consent flow — never by a separate mechanism on this site.

GlossAtlas does not build, and will never build, its own cookie-consent banner or preference center. Google’s CMP is the single interface for managing every cookie described in this section.

Cookie Set by Purpose Status
GA4 measurement cookies (e.g. _ga, _ga_*) Google, via gtag.js Distinguish visits/sessions for product analytics Not active — GA4 property exists, site not yet deployed
Google CMP consent-state cookie Google, via the Privacy & Messaging CMP snippet Remembers your consent choice across visits Not active — CMP configured, site not yet deployed
Google advertising cookies (AdSense) Google Ad serving/personalization, gated by your CMP consent choice Not active — AdSense account confirmed, no ads served yet

Your controls

Once the above is live, you will be able to change your choice at any time via the “Privacy choices” link present on every page, which reopens Google’s CMP dialog directly. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser’s own settings at any time — the core comparison tool does not require any cookie to function.

Changes to this policy

The table above will be updated to reflect reality the moment any of these systems actually goes live, not before.
